Abstract: The paper reports on three newly discovered sites of critically endangered species Spiranthes spiralis from western part of Slovakia (namely Podunajská nížina lowland, the Považský Inovec Mts. and the Malé Karpaty Mts.). The populations comprise 10, 7 and 1 individuals, respectively. Populations grow in Festuco valesiacae-Stipetum capillatae Silinger 1930 and Festuco pallentis-Caricetum humilis Sillinger 1930, where the species has not been reported from Slovakia so far. The paper also provides a complete list of localities of S. spiralis in Slovakia. Out of the total of 47 reported localities, the species has been present in 18 of them, in mostly declining populations (62% loss of localities).
he blockfield within the Nature Reserve Kamenné more above the village of Vyhne (Štiavnické vrchy Mts) extends on the slopes of Kamenná Mt (elevation 502 m) in an altitude gradient from 360–500 m. It represents an island with the occurrence of boreal species in the middle of an area with a strong representation of thermophilic species. In 1987, Ivan Pišút recorded several noteworthy lichens, including boreal elements Arctoparmelia incurva and Melanelia stygia. This contribution provides current information on the occurrence of Arctoparmelia incurva in the Nature Reserve Kamenné more.

Abstract: Flora of vascular plants and bryophytes as well as plant communities of three small-scale mire localities in the Kremnické vrchy Mts near Dolná Ves and Kopernica villages were studied in 2022. Altogether 89 and 41 taxa of vascular plants and bryophytes were recorded, respectively. Seven threatened vascular plants (Carex canescens, C. demissa, C. lepidocarpa, Drosera rotundifolia, Molinia caerulea agg., Platanthera bifolia and Valeriana simplicifolia) and 2 bryophytes (Sphagnum fimbriatum, S. angustifolium) and only two alien plants (Bidens frondosa, Impatiens parviflora) were identified. In addition, the following forest, shrub and herb hygrophilous vegetation alliances were recorded: Alnion incanae, Salicion cinereae, Calthion palustris, Molinion caeruleae, Caricion remotae and Sphagno-Caricion canescentis.

Abstract: In Slovak botanical terminology, there are cases where terms are incorrectly translated, or their Slovak equivalents are completely missing. Lack of equivalents led authors to use homonymous names for different botanical terms. To make Slovak terminology proper, systematic categories for plant indumentum were introduced. All surfaces can be divided into six categories and 21 groups. More than 100 different terms for plant covering are listed in the text, and more than 60 of them are new or revised.
